Here is a very interesting article about the Summit Series Group buying Powder Mountain:  Why Buy a House When You Can Buy a Mountain?

The State of Colorado Establishes a Forward-Thinking Net-Zero Home Mortgage Program!

Thanks to the Colorado Energy Saving Mortgage Program, signed into law by Governor Hickenlooper on May 28, a homebuyer purchasing a new or renovated ZNE (HERS 0 rating) home is eligible for an $8,000 reduction on financing the total cost of his or her home mortgage. A new or renovated home that has a HERS rating greater than HERS 0, but less than HERS 50 (50 percent energy reduction), will also receive a mortgage reduction incentive.

Welcome to the team, Matt Armentrout!

Matt Armentrout has become the newest member of Green Line Architects in Carbondale, CO.  He holds a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Nebraska. (2011)
Matt has a passion for modern and sustainable design that is not only attractive to the eye but is sensitive to its environment.  These traits make him a great fit with Green Line's design philosophy.  Matt's interest in the built environment started early for him as he drew crude floor plans and elevations as a child.  By middle school he declared he would become an architect without really knowing what architecture was.  As time and his education progressed, Matt became increasingly aware of what it means to be an architect, which has only fueled his desire in the pursuit.

Studying for his degree, Matt looked for opportunities to be inventive, while meeting the challenges of design projects.  It is here that he developed a critical eye for beauty; and curiosity toward what is possible.  Matt worked for a brief while as a wood craftsman, building fine cabinetry and drafting of custom furniture designs.  This experience impacted the way he thinks about detail and quality in his work.  It also gave him an appreciation for natural and authentic materials, which is something school could not provide.

Matt originates from Omaha, Nebraska and only recently moved to Colorado in pursuit of his career.  He is embracing the mountain lifestyle.  Outside of architecture Matt also enjoys mountain bike rides, falling down on his snowboard, making things with his hands, spending time with his dog Barley and painting.
